Since 1977, Dogwood Elementary School has proudly served the Germantown community, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for approximately 640 students. Our guiding principles - Be Responsible, Everyone has Value, Listen to Understand, Operate with Kindness, Never Give Up, and Grow into a World Changer - shape every aspect of our school culture. Together, we embrace the belief that "All Dolphins Belong," encouraging excellence, creativity, and inclusivity for every member of our school community here at Dogwood.

Dogwood is all about celebrating each and everyone of our students and helping them to grow into world changers. Our motto, "All Dolphins Belong," is not just about the school day. Our students are taught to be leaders both here at DES, but also out in the community. We strive to ensure that our staff members, teachers, students, and community are proud to be Dogwood Dolphins, and DES provides a strong foundation for our students to be successful leaders.

Program Spotlight

Dogwood Track

Dogwood Elementary’s boys and girls track teams both claimed first place at the Memphis Youth Athletic Championship Meet in the spring 2026 season. This was the well deserved ending to a fantastic, historic season. 

The Dolphins faced 30 teams in one of the largest meets in recent years. The boys team entered the championship undefeated and found a way to finish strong, winning first-place finish by just two points. The girls team delivered a standout performance of its own, tying for first place.

Student Spotlight

Dogwood's Got Talent

Dogwood Elementary transformed into a vibrant performance venue as students showcased their talents in a festive talent show filled with music, dance, comedy, and creativity. Students competed in two categories: Kindergarten through 2nd grade and 3rd through 5th grade. The show featured an impressive range of acts, including magicians, comedians, singers, instrumentalists, and dancers. Each performance reflected the courage, creativity, and dedication of Dogwood’s young performers.
