Dogwood Artists Shine at Delta Fair

Dogwood Elementary School is celebrating their artists after their impressive showing at the recent Delta Fair Art Contest. The contest, renowned for showcasing young artistic talent, saw five of Dogwood’s students earn accolades, demonstrating the school’s commitment to fostering creativity among its pupils.

Camille Bodkin, a first-grader, earned 9th place for her depiction of boats. Despite being one of the youngest participants, Camille’s work stood out for its vibrant colors and imaginative composition.

Second-grader Emmie Bouldien also claimed a prize, clinching 4th place with her endearing llama illustration. Emmie’s piece was celebrated for its attention to detail and the whimsical touch that brought her furry subject to life.

Third grader Wyatt Randles impressed the judges with his abstract bull artwork, securing another 4th place. Wyatt’s piece was noted for its bold use of color and innovative approach..

Reese McBride, a fourth-grader, showcased her artistic talent with a colorful drawing of crayons, which also earned her 4th place. Reese’s work was praised for its vibrant palette and the playful representation of everyday objects.

Fifth-grader Tatum Barnett rounded out the school’s list of winners with a 5th place award for her drawing of three-dimensional shapes. Tatum’s entry was distinguished by its intricate detail and spatial awareness, showcasing her skill in translating complex concepts into visually engaging art.

Art teachers Ashley Luyendyk and Charli Ardrey are proud of their artists. “We are so proud of our students’ hard work and creativity,” Luyendyk said.

Dogwood Elementary’s success in the Delta Fair Art Contest highlights the school’s dedication to nurturing artistic expression from a young age.
