On January 19th, the book fair at Dogwood Elementary School was a huge success. At the book fair, people pinned the nose on the snowman, read books, made bookmarks, and had snowball fights. There were so many exciting things to discover!

"I’m really happy that it was Novel, not Scholastic,” said Julia Henson, fifth grader. “This time they had a better variety of books.”

At the book fair, there were many fun activities that students, families, teachers, and anyone else that came loved. One of the very many students that loved the games was 3rd grader Cole Wright. He said, “I like the book fair because there were a ton of fun games to do.”

The book fair was even in person this year, and that’s a big upgrade because Dogwood had not had a book fair in person since 2019.

“It was great,” first grade teacher Tasha Britcliffe said. “I got to see lots of former students and current students.”

Everybody was a lot happier that it was not virtual this year, so everybody was able to see friends, and teachers were able to see lots of students. It made a big difference for some people's experiences.

People got books to enjoy with their friends and family. “I hope that someone at our school was able to purchase a book to keep in their collection,” librarian Mrs. Hilary McIntyre said.

There’s no doubt that everybody, possibly even some 6th graders will come back next year to the book fair to enjoy it all over again.
