Dogwood Finds GMSD Spirit

Houston High School homecoming is not just for the high school students. Dogwood Elementary students have been celebrating their future school the past few days.

On Thursday, students wore Houston gear. Some wore their “Future Mustang” shirts while others decked out in black. HHS cheerleaders led cheers during lunch in the cafeteria to build excitement for the game.
Friday the high school celebrated by having decade day. Dogwood followed suit. Students with crimped hair and leg warmers or tie-dyed shirts with peace signs roamed the halls.

The students enjoyed the opportunity to dress up. “I just like to wear a lot of colors,” said Kate Solomon, who was sporting an 80’s look.

Students had so much fun, and many are excited about the football game. “I want to go to the game tonight!” said third grader Tatum Barnett, who was wearing a shiny, silver disco jumpsuit to show her spirit.
