Safety Patrol Program

This club is open to 4th and 5th grade students, and the mission is to provide a safer environment at Dogwood for our students during arrival and dismissal. The cost is $45 to cover t-shirts, belts, badges, and two annual parties.

The Dogwood AAA Safety Patrol assists school staff during arrival and dismissal. Patrollers are expected to be at school from 8:20 to 3:55 as part of their daily responsibilities. Patrollers will perform their duties and develop leadership skills and individual strengths throughout the year. Patrollers are role models for their peers and are expected to demonstrate good leadership, responsibility, academic progress, character, dependability, and maturity.

Art Club

This clubs is open to 4th and 5th grade students, and the mission is to provide an opportunity to try different art media and techniques in a small group. Club members refine their art skills and apply their creativity in individual as well as group art projects. The financial cost is $25 for art supplies.

Steel Drum Band

The famous Dogwood Steel Drum Band is open to 4th and 5th grade students, and auditions take place towards the beginning of each school year. 

Mission: To learn some fun music and perform on Jumbie Jam steel drums!

Financial cost: $25

Deep Blue Drama Club

Deep Blue Drama Club is a fun and creative space for 3rd through fifth grade students who are interested in theater. Whether they enjoy singing, acting, dancing, or working behind the scenes, there's something for everyone. Club members will explore what goes into putting on a performance -- like learning lines, designing sets, and working as a team. It's a great way to build confidence, have fun, and discover the magic of the stage. There is a cost associated with the club so that members can have t-shirts and put on a spring show. 

Financial Cost: $100

Yearbook Executive Board 

Students in the 4th and 5th grad can apply to be a part of Yearbook Club!

Mission: To preserve the history of the school while learning organizational, leadership, and digital design skills.

Dogwood Running (XC and Track) 

The State Championship and record breaking Dogwood Running club is open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, and the mission is to learn a new sport and work as a team! The $120 fee covers student registration fees and the end of year banquet. Team members must also purchase a uniform top.

Student Ambassadors 

Being a student ambassador for Dogwood is open to 4th and 5th grade students, and the selection process takes place at the end of the previous school year. The mission of this club is to promote leadership and strengthen problem solving skills in order to create a positive school environment. These students assist with school programming and participate in at least one community service activity per year. The financial cost is $25 to cover t-shirts, monthly refreshments, and two celebrations per year.

K-Kids Club (Kiwanis)

This club is open to 4th and 5th grade students, and each student will learn to be a competent, capable, and caring leader!

Mission: K-Kids is an international student-led organization providing members with opportunities to perform service, build character, and develop leadership.

K-3 Reading Club: Read, Create, and Celebrate

The cost is $20. This club is open to K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students.

Mission: To dive into a carefully chosen picture book or early chapter book and bring the story to life with themed cooking, art, and spa-style activities. Books become experiences, and reading becomes something to look forward to.  

Financial Cost: $20

Science Club 

This club is open to students in the 4th and 5th grade. 

Mission: To expose elementary school students to the skills and ways of solving problems important for so many future career paths. Students will jump into real life scenarios and create and test solutions.

Dolphin Junior Leadership League

This club is only open to 5th grade students. The Dolphin Junior Leadership League is dedicated to developing young leaders in our school community and actively leading activities as a role model for other students. Through fun activities and school projects, we will strive to find ways to be upstanders who make our school better. Our goal is to lead through our actions and make a positive impact on our school. The cost is $25.

Notification of the option to parents that if they do not want their student to participate in the club or organization, they must provide a WRITTEN COMMUNICATION to the school that is SIGNED AND DATED stating that they do not want their student to participate in the club or organization. In order to participate in a club or organization, a parent must provide signed permission to do so.
